Expand on existing blog topics
If you have written content on your blog on everything you can think of, here’s what you can do. First, go through all of your existing content and see where you can expand or update. Do you have a blog post that is generating traffic? Can you expand on that topic? Think about any blog idea that is closely related to that topic.
Use Google News
One of the best ways to get fresh content that people are searching for is to use Google News. Google News provides stories on current news topics on just about every subject. So if you have a car insurance blog, go to Google News and search for cars or car insurance to see the latest news. Then write a blog post about it.
Write local blog topics
If you are a local insurance agent, you want visitors from your local area to find you. Writing blog posts about things that are going on in your community can help you bring in local traffic. This can also help you when it comes to local SEO. Having informative blog posts about events, organizations, or activities in your local area are great topics for your blog.
Visit a completely unrelated blog
One of the ways I generate new content ideas for my blog is by visiting other blogs. Sometimes they are on completely different topics. But, here’s the thing. When you visit a million blogs on insurance, your brain will go to mush. After seeing the same generic topics over and over on every blog, you may start to ask yourself is there really anything new to blog about?
Yes, there is! You can always spin a topic or come up with something interesting. For me, one of the best ways to do that is to check out exciting blogs on other topics. Look at the titles of the posts. What gets your attention? Take their title ideas and turn them into an insurance blog topic.
